  • Second time trying this wine and vintage and we’re not so impressed, particularly for the varietal. It’s quafable but doesn’t show any typical varietal characteristics. SBC is not known for cab sauv so it’s not so surprising. Wont be purchasing it again.

  • 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc. Central Coast. Owner: John Kochis. Sustainably farmed vineyards, hand picked. Minimally-manipulated. Oak. Deep garnet color, opaque. Revealed more complexity on the palate than on the nose, particularly as the flavors/spices imparted by the oak came forth as the wine opened up with time. Fresh tomato, garden veggies, leafy greens; big grape juice. Medium body, med+ acid, med. tannin. Not an overpowering Califormia cab, much more gentile and approachable.
