Very dark color, almost inky. Scent of blueberries and violets. On the palate quite dense, with dark somewhat dry fruit, followed by soft tannins.no real spice, moderate finish, with hint of violets.

My only bottle so no history with this wine. The color on the wine was darker than I expected, moving towards inky, into petite sirah range but enough red still in it to believe it syrah. I'm thinking some whole cluster used here, as it has that signature stalkiness, along with some bacon fat. Blackberry, ground pepper and would agree with Parker on the charcoal note. Enough chocolate and wood to still show in the finish, but also quite a bit of reinforcing pepper and acidity to liven it. In fact, some might find the acidity/pepper combo to be too high but for me, it really livens up the wine and extends the finish to a long length. Shows the cool climate that I was reaching for when I pulled the bottle and has several years of life left to gain more complexity. Very nice, as I have been disappointed with the Samsara pinots I have opened recently but this wine really showed well.

consistent with earlier tasting. paired with a pork roast. popped and poured. This wine has lots of earth and terroir - classic for a syrah.
