Napa Valley Cab Sauv. Decent entry level wine at a good price but nothing to excite the palate. Oak, blackberry, black plum, baking spice. Short finish.

Martin Ray's 2019 Napa Valley Cab is an opaque crimson wine that is ripe and succulent, offering an abundance of black fruit that is framed with mulling spices, licorice, bittersweet chocolate and toasted oak. Medium-to-full-bodied, fresh and with well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.5%), it buttresses the flavors with plentiful silky-textured tannins. With excellent mid-palate density and a smooth, medium-length finish, this is already easy to enjoy. Bottled under screwcap, it will benefit from decantation and an hour or so of aeration at this point. Drink now-2031.

Smooth, with lots of red fruit flavors and aromas, and moderate tannins. Quite tasty, and seems likely to improve over the next few years.
