Lots to like for a $17 Napa single vineyard cabernet. Starting with the color: an exceptionally inky dark purple color with purple legs. High-toned nose, with raspberry, blueberry, nutmeg, maybe even a bit of green pepper? Medium-full body, somewhat silky, not especially identifiable elements in the mouth, but certainly not disagreeable. This walks a bit on the wild side, and it is hard to define, but it is hard to imagine a much more complex, fuller-bodied red wine at this price point. Should be OK with BBQ beef or ribs. 5-11-15-8: 89/100.

Solid! One of the best Kirkland wines I’ve tasted. Deep purple color. Big rich nose jumps out of the glass like a barrel tasting with aromas of lush, dark fruits, cocoa and tobacco. I got a hint of blueberry. Nice balanced mouthfeel with good structured finish.
For this price, I hope to get enough to last a few years and see how it develops.

Easy drinking. Fruity up front, but lacks complexity and acidity to balance the fruit and tannin structure.
