Decanted for an hour, soft nose and long legs, but opened up very nicely. Dark berries, tobacco, and fresh oak giving it some complexity. Overall a lighter Cab than what I’m used to for Stag’s Leap District but extremely approachable. Continued to progress and by hour 2.5, tannins faded, the acidity gave way to a more balanced glass. This ‘17 was largely unaffected by the areas severe fires and shows tremendous growth. Could easily use another 4-10 years laying.
