ripe and fleshy on the nose with spice, baked apple and pear; has an almost opulent feel to it; develops some hazelnut paste and more spice with air; there is enough freshness to keep this pleasant and with a bit more time and food would probably be quite nice; probably did not benefit from being tasted after a Chablis

Tasted during a visit to the estate in Beaune. This spent 15 months in oak, of which 25% new. A more tropical fruit of pineapple with mineral notes of smoke and pebbles. Quite perfumed and airy. The palate was quite dense and added a hint of hazelnut - from the limestone soil, as we were told. The dense texture on the other hand was driven by the clay.
