This is one the most Impressive <$25 wines I’ve had in recent memory. Lemon, brine, chalk and river stone. It is a lighter style wine, but it still has good intensity and concentration. There is acidity at the end, but it keeps the wine fresh while not being over the top. It is Burgundy in style, and to be honest I wish more Bougogne Blancs or Maconnaose/Cote Chalonaise wines were as good as this for similar price, but they simply do not exist. So this inexpensive Beauty from NZ is one of my new favorites.

Tasted with some friends at work and, upon retrospect, not at all surprised that I was surprised with this. Figured this might be a little too acidic or a slightly disjointed version of the "vineyard" level Kumeu- NOPE. Less depth and intensity sure, but still plenty to enjoy and very balanced. Lemon ricotta, pear custard, and saline minerality with hints of meringue; borders on tropical but stays within the citrus family. Acidity starts strong, but the lees aging smooths things out on the finish. Nice play of textures on the palate. < $20 Empire Wine, will be back for more. A- (90 evaluation).

Nice! Like a combo of burgundy and a Bin65 from years ago!

Clean, some interest and not trying too hard, in a medium weight mould. Good value.
