The colour was so dark that I feared oxidation but not a bit of it. Sweet, rich, deep and complex with apricot tinged white fruit, fine minerals, a burnished undertow sprinkled with toffee and enough acidity to avoid cloying which naturally came through more with dessert than with Stilton. Very good.

A mass of botrytis - layers of honey, apricot marmalade, and botrytis spice with intense sweetness on the palate, but also impressively balanced with decent acidity and a really polished, almost glossy texture on the palate.

I am on the verge of disposing of a lot of near sweeties ("off-dry"?!) and sweeties because of small consumption of them and this is a marker of what I will be missing. Deep gold colour and expressive nose of apricot, orange, baked apple, minerals and a touch of toffee. Medium bodied palate, sweet but with enough mouth-watering acidity to prevent cloying, plenty of fruit and minerals overlaid by the aromas from the nose and fine backbone and length with lingering clean flavours. Excellent.

Gorgeous and ready to go for my taste. With almond sponge cake with peaches and peach sorbet at Chip and Tina’s. Brilliant wine. Yum.

Apple pie in a bottle. This is a real joy to drink. Light on the palate despite its weight and sweetness which is not cloying. Very long finish.
