11 years post vintage and this is still a young puppy. Immaculate cork with no stain. So much fruit and tannin left! The overall balance is striking. Definitely, the greatest Peter Lehmann Futures I have tasted to date. I've had many wines half the age that were far more evolved in their life-cycle - impressive and certainly bodes well for its future (pardon the pun). I have one more bottle left which I have flagged to open in no less than 8 years time.

opaque mulberry robe. opulent fruit and peppery spice on the nose. lovely oak is intergated nicely as part of the whole theme of the wine. highly extracted. big rich mouth feel with voluptuous ripe fruit held together with lively acidity. long lush finish. yummy indeed!!!! very very fine right now for the over-the-top new world wine lovers but should reward short to mid term cellaring. at $34 cdn dollars this wine is fair value in my opinion compared to the glut of ordinary shiraz available right now at the $20 range. it's worth the extra money if you are so inclined.
