  As indicated in previous notes from 9 months ago, it is time to drink. Medium garnet color, a bit of bricking at the rim. A bit of smoke, a bit of spice and some blackberry on the palate. A little too acidic but limited tannins.

  Time to drink this but what an interesting contrast side by side with a 97 Constant claret and an 02 Constant Cab. The group was evenly split between the 97 and 98. Those favoring the 98 highlighted the spice and body. Those favoring the 97 appreciated the fruit forward aspect if the 97. Both were very good.

  Medium garnet color in the glass. Clove, pepper and smoke on the nose. Medium bodied but the spice carries over on the palate along with plum, cassis and blackberry. Still ample but well integrated tannins. Update: evolved after 2 hours to reveal additional minerality with notes of leather and mocha. Very nice bottle of wine. drank with Matt and Molly with Italian dinner, watching Carolina/Ohio game
