  • The champagne comes from the site Les Revers, facing north, located at about 255 meters and densely planted with about 7,500 vines per hectare. It is a single-varietal Chardonnay from a site with Cimmerdige limestone in the subsoil and clay and loam in the topsoil. The vineyard is located near Buxières-sur-Arce. Whole grapes were pressed, fermented spontaneously, aged in used 350- and 500-liter barrels, followed by 15 months of lees aging. The Brut Nature was disgorged on 18. 10. 2020.

    Nose
Les Revers is a Champagne closer to Chablis than to the Côte des Blancs in terms of its overall base. It is the representative of a cool region and the Kimmeridge limestone in the subsoil. And this shows on the nose through a clarity and precision that is already fantastic in this young champagne. The aroma from the glass flows over with notes of iodine and sea, oyster shell and salt lemon, some herbs and wet limestone, a bit of crunchy stone fruit and a hint of freshly cracked nuts.

    Palate
On the palate, Les Revers delivers just as expected from the nose. The champagne has the lucky punch, showing power and pressure, freshness and minerality. It is clear and precise, always on the very bright white-yellow side with a few sprinklings of green ripe notes, blond tobacco, some graphite, white flowers and a fine tart note of grapefruit zest. The perlage shows lively and fine, the finish is long and persistent.
