Recently I enjoyed a Fess Parker Bien Nacido Pinot. I thought that this wine and this Villa Mt Eden Bien Nacido both offered real personality. After cherry, a tart dry sensation appeared in the moderately lingering finish. NIce bright, brilliant red, light color even for a CA medium viscosity pinot, the nose is distinctive wiht cherry and mushroom earth, complex and powerful (The Fess Parker had similar aromatics) A gripping dark cherry flavor with a tartness and low acidity, the Central Coast cola flavor just kicked in -cherry, sweetness and hint of bitterness, perhaps too bitter/burning in the extended finish. Nancy rates this wine a a 15/80...she's a tough critic and Gary gives the wine as 90.

Had at RWS event at Westwood Club. Paired with Seared gulf shrimp and petite salad of arugula and proscuitto. Went very well with food. Better than i thought it would be. A bit thin and a light color. Easy to drink

Tasting beter and better with time. Well balanced, drinkable out of the bottle, no airing required.
