Not your CSM Columbia Valley grocery store Washington Merlot! This is BIG. Opens up dirty and grippy, typical of some of VP’s Estate Cabernets. This needs a good hour or so to open up and probably would benefit with a few more years in bottle. Once it tames down this has dark cherries, licorice, plum with a long mouth coating finish. Justin’s Merlot is what opened my eyes to his wines about 10 years ago and I was sad he had stopped producing it for a few years but very glad he’s brought it back.
