Impressive savory notes of garrigue, graphite, cedar and tar, but the fruit, while dark, is just too watery to score higher. Pleasantly bitter on both the attack and the finish but the midpalate fruit of plum and grape just isn't dense enough. Preferable to the New World versions that have the opposite problem.

It’s solid but still pretty dark and muted. Not bad at all but not great.

Slightly murky in glass
Otherwise solid enough CdR, trading on a big name. Significant cost cutting in the years since I last drank on premise

Didn't seems as massively tannic as some, but it certainly opened as the evening progressed. Dark plum, tar, black pepper.
