Riesling bash at CHIKO (Chevy Chase, Maryland): This is such a mineral-focused wine, showing lots of crushed rocks, limestone, oyster shells, with zesty citrus. The flavors are great, but what stuck with me most about this wine is how clear and intense it is. A long life ahead of this, and I would lay any of these down for at least five to seven years.

Quite good if a bit young. More dry than sweet (barely feinherb?), this is spicy, round, really tasty and shows good acid/fruit balance. It kind of stumbled out of the gate, but by the second, and certainly by the third glass it was wide open and a great pleasure. I think I have one more left that I'll revisit some time in the next five years even if it'll age beyond that. 12,0% abv yet quite full of flavor; love that. At $38, it's easily recommended

Another winner from Lauer. A spicy Riesling with notes of ginger, lime, pear, and a lingering mineral and fruit laden finish. Weighing in at approximately 8 gm/l residual sugar, it is perfectly balanced. Paired wonderfully with a Garam masala roasted chicken

At the moment - a solid wine. More ripe fruit (pear) than I was expecting).

This continues to improve as it opens.
Lots of minerality. Lots of honey, pear, lemon zest.
Medium-high acidity. Slightly effervescent.
Overall very good.
