  • Decanted 6 hrs. First go with this producer and it appears we are off to a good start. Easy going and light on its feet, this Syrah delivers the goods without unnecessary pomp and ceremony. Nervy, almost slightly under ripe blackberry bounces off the inner mouth perfume of violets and the like. There is structure and complexity as the back half delivers classical olive and soil tones, I’d guess this was raised in neutral or used oak, nary a sign of new wood. This will likely never be the pride of anyone’s cellar, but it was the pride of Saturday night as I enjoyed this watching Karate Kid 3 with my 13 year old daughter – I mean she had to know the back story of Terry Silver and Kreese to truly understand the deep character layers of the latest season of Cobra Kai, right? What kind of father would I be…? Cheers.
