Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 88 points

  • Spontaneous after dinner wine tasting with my wife: Wine 6 of 6, a sample prepared by a friend and dropped off at my door spontaneously, tasted blind. Dark ruby colour. Good dark and some red fruit, vegetal notes, spices, and vanilla, with good acidity, dry, chewy tannin that also transitions into a black tea leave sensation, and good length. Good complexity, and good concentration, and even good balance once you get past the black tea leaf dryness. That tannic dryness might be more than many consumers might be willing to deal with. Works for me, though. I kind of liked it. And my wife's favourite. Pair it with a rib-eye steak.
