Confused as to why this gem isn't more well known!
The vibe I got from this straight away was that it's similar to Laherte Freres' Emprientes of the same vintage.
It's starting to show some age here without being too overt, while retaining a lovely acidic backbone. I did think the acidity here was a bit rounder, and the overall profile much more chalky as opposed to the Emprientes fruit-forwardness and crushing acidity.
Some real value here at 98 SGD before discounts.

Les Plates Pierres is a vineyard parcel that, has been cultivated for many generations by the Grumier family. This large vineyard (1.40 ha), which sits on limestone and clay soil and was completely replanted in 1990 and 1991, produces wines of great aromatic purity. The plot "Les Plates Pierres" is farmed biodynamically and brings to light a powerful and intense, spicy champagne, which over the last few years has become increasingly complex and precise. Already the nose is to dive in. At the moment, it still needs some time to open up. Yellow fruit, some smoke, and a distinctly chalky minerality come to the fore, along with some brioche and white flowers. The champagne is very complex. The palate is powerful, very well structured, dense, concentrated with very ripe fruit carried by an excellently integrated acidity, excellently balanced with energy and a lot of tension, aromatic with green apples and some citrus, the wine ends markedly long and stony cool in the finish. A long-distance runner that currently still needs some air and should be ideal as a companion to poultry or veal.
