A great QPR Albarino with a nice balance. Ocean salty with citrus - would hint depth and length. I would assume it goes well with sushi or grilled fish. I enjoyed it more as it opened up.

On first opening this could be summarised as "chalky lemon juice"!
With a little air (or perhaps my palate getting over the shock) it becomes a little more approachable. The nose is still quite closed with mineral hints, and perhaps just a touch of something like papaya. One the palate it is very bracing indeed - strong preserved lemons, high acidity (but no bitterness). On the very cleansing finish also a that chalky minerality.
I sort of like this, but I'm struggling to see what to pair it with - perhaps very oily fish? It's crisp and well made, but not something I would seek out often.

92+ Very Albariño. From a great winery - their single vineyard, oxidative Cos Pes is exceptional.
N: Bitter, floral tones pop, sweet honeydew melon underneath, subtle ripe nectarine, a bit salty.
P: Punchy, classic, not exuberant in fruit, mainly floral and mineral/ salty up front, ripe but zippy citrus. Preserved brined lemons. Med+ acidity, subtle grip. None of the nose's tropical undertones.
F: Green apple skin, salt, lemon zest/pith

Subdued nose. Green bell peppers, wax, gummy candy, honey. Quite some acidity, somewhat bitter. Will maybe show more in a year or two. Maybe corky.
