Chilled and poured to accompany mussels steamed in cream, Guinness, and clam sauce. Light gold color. Nose of hay, yeast, citrus, petrol, white flowers. Bready, deeply settled layers of grapefruit, granny apple, biscuit, and white stone on the palate enlivened by striking acidity and massaging bubbles. Long finish of grapefruit, lime, schist, white pear, and grip. Superb.

Tasted at Munskänkarna Göteborg CHampagne-class, session I, flight I.
Sweet apple, bread, beer, mineral on the nose. The taste is quite full-bodied, with sweet apples, flint-stone, chocolate, finely balanced acidity and a well developed complexity that provides a very fine wine, very good!

A very rich nose with nougat, a touch of minerality and ripe apple. Surprisingly, this is not as big on the palate as you would expect after such a powerful nose. Still showing the richness of the vintage but the acidity saves the day. Delicious and I don't think this is a Champagne for the long term as I would fear to lose the acidity. This was actually perfect with our shrimp dish.

Not quite up to the level of the great 1996 but still a very delicious Champagne.

A very good, drinkable Champagne that just lacks that wow factor that the '96 has.
