Awesome, rustic Chianti from an epic vintage year. Nose of dark fruit married with a robust earthiness. Traces of licorice and a hint of menthol with a touch of funk. Palate mirrors. On the rustic and tannic side. Medium-high acidity. Fruity and earthy on the attack and trails with fruit and a touch of spice. Bold powered finish with moderate length. Outstanding quality for the price and in my opinion, plenty of aging potential with some unresolved tannins and acidity. *Tolaini was founded in 1998 by Piero Luigi Tolaini in the Chianti Classico region of Tuscany. They make a variety of wines, but only 2 Chianti. This is their base Chianti. *2019 vintage comprised of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Canaiolo from vines planted in 2000. *Diam 5 closure.

Dark fruited nose of blueberries, black plums, wet forest leaves. Carries pretty similarly on the palate. Healthy amount of acidity and tannins. The real beauty of this wine is the balance between the fruit, acidity, and body. Well used oak. Alcohol showing slightly at the back. Enjoyable!

Fairly dark red. Quite intense nose, mostly blueberry, dried cherry, spice and a bit of green herb. Dry textured red fruit and spice flavours and a very balanced dry finish.
This wine was delicious and fresh. Needs time to come together but I am not sure it will ever show traditional Chianti Classico character.

Cherry fruit earthy Parmesan notes. Rich ripe and racy. Love it.
