Every Gahier's vintage that's just bottled tastes tight and restrained. It's exactly the same scenario for this Trousseau. Bit volatile at first, but with some air opens to fresh berry fruit and Mediterranean herbs. Medium-bodied, light tannins, medium acidity. Long, funky finish with just a bit of grip. Will be much better in 6-12 months.

Opens up with a slightly volatile, funky nose. Changes rapidly with air to reveal scents of cranberry fruit, flowers, earth and licorice. Light translucent color. Vibrant cranberry fruit, cherry flavors on the palate, a hint of orange, licorice pastilles. Is light bodied, elegant but yet intense. Young vines, which is to say 30-yr old vines. Lovely wine for the lunch table, will match a variety of dishes. Probably to drink on the younger side while waiting for the older vines cuvées.

Medium garnet in color. Ripe and earthy fruit aromas of strawberry, cherry, rose petals, violets, earth, and red berries. Nose is extremely expressive. Juicy and ripe with silky tannins. Rich on the palate with cherry, strawberry, and mixed berries.
