More translucent than some older Kistler pinots, opens up to pretty aromas of crushed berries, cool coastal lavender, toasty wood, and fresh cut herbs. Structured in the mouth, with bright pomegranate, minerally acidity, and foresty, earthy, black tea notes. Slightly waxy in texture, the wine is super balanced and fresh, delicious now but I'm sure there is no issue with aging here. Interesting note is that this is slightly less sweet than some of the other Kistler pinots from my past. A welcome change, not sure if that is vintage or a change in winemaking/farming.

Medium ruby/purple; soil, red cherry, forest floor, pine; high acidity; medium to medium plus tannins; medium plus flavour intensity; palate is tarter and follows nose; long finish; not as interesting as Laguna; tasted at winery

Very nice wine, Burgundian in style….but probably not worth the high price tag.

These wines need a lot of time in the cellar.
