Well...bottle #2 , a year later. On nose and palate: tart cherry preserves and coffee, notes of fresh cigar tobacco and dark chocolate, on a lean but somewhat expanded and fuller body, than bottle #1.....I am aware that I said " will not buy again" in my review last year.....but this was on sale...$5.00 less as a " bin end"...it has improved.

Another Argentinian Malbec. On nose: tart cherry preserves and a ghost of coffee. On palate: a follow through of above flavours, on a medium body, with some minerality and plum skin acidity....aaand ...that's it. Decent food wine, but a tad underwhelming.....$3.00 more than the Catena in Vancouver....will not buy again.

A nice combination of smoke and spice aromas. Smoked sage? Strong presence of black fruit flavours - plum, cherry. Well balanced with a subtle bite. I’d buy this one again.

The fragrant, medium-high to highly aromatic nose offers lovely aromas of ripe, dark fruited, blackberry, black cherry, and dark currant aromas surrounding a core of smoky, earthy, and savoury mineral. On the ripe, full-bodied, and fleshy palate, it has spicy dark berry flavours of blackberry, black cherry, and grilled herb with violet and boysenberry accents, followed by savoury, stony mineral notes. Acids are fresh, juicy, and well-balanced, while the smooth, refined tannins are dusty textured. Subtly spicy on the mid-palate, with smoky, stony mineral notes lingering on the finish, with very good length.
