  • Vibrant gold color. Yeasty nose with basil and lemon. Fine bead. Full and crisp on the palate, lemons, apples, pears. Smooth with a bite. Delightful. Lovely acidity, great balance. Finishes long and lemony. Wonderful stuff.

  • Varietal Petit Meslier is surely something I've never seen before. And extra brut too!

Wow, this thing is like ALL apples. Well, a little bit of fresh thyme, lemon curd, brioche and green almonds to round out the nose.. Intensity of aromas is medium +. The palate adds ripe apricots, sea salt, marzipan/nuts and orange juice; but is otherwise consistent with the nose and also dominated by ripe golden apples. Finishes with toasted hazlenuts. Intensity of flavors is high.

Medium + body with medium +...almost high acid. Nice long finish as well. Excellent pairing with fish risotto. Really fun to try; and more than just a novelty.

NOSE: quite expressive; dominated by Golden Delicious apples, with hints of chalk and sea spray.

BODY: medium gold yellow color; medium-light bodied.

TASTE: bready, and a touch vinous; tart apple skin; super high acidity; interesting; limey acid on the finish; a bit floral, and a very faint hint of cumin; bitter lime on the finish; unusual; I'm fairly certain this is the most acidic Champagne I've had. Ash is not a fan -- too acidic, and she doesn't like the flavors on the finish. This actually came across as a touch tannic; I strong recommend not drinking this too cold -- fridge temp. is too cold -- better to drink at/around cellar temp.. I liked this a lot, and will probably rebuy, although it will be with some reluctance as this is north of $100 ... just can't get it out of my head.

  • Disgorged 9/2022. Pale gold in the class with decent mousse and fairly large bubbles. Nose of white peach, apricot, and brioche. Crisp acidity with medium body and pretty aggressive frizz. Mouth filling flavors of green apple, nectarine, and marzipan. I was expecting a little more roundness on the palate but very enjoyable overall with a pleasing length. Took quite a while to really open up. QPR is just laughably bad but I guess that’s the story of Champagne in the 2020s.

  • 1/22 Disgorgement - Dark in color, lemon, lime, chalk and zest. This was very bright compared to the Laval we had next to it and had this killer streak of acid with a long finish. Very very good!
