  • Opened by accident & what welcome event!
Short note - its in a great place.

Long note: Started way funky with petroleum and bad earth scents.
Then turned deeply delicious, full of terroir and rounded integrated oak notes. Tannins resolved but not very silky.
Nevertheless this possesses the aged cab elements I seek: Cigar box, chocolate, cassis, etc.

But the bottle does not hold up very long, as it began a fast descent about an hour after opening. So best served PnP to a table of 4 people one glass each.
Lots o sediment which brings a bit of a conundrum: Decanting just may cause this to quickly fall off due to too much air. Yet the solids are not small. So judge accordingly.
We poured carefully from the bottle until the last 20%.

  • Big fruit. Complex. Perfect with a steak, lamb or heavy game.

  • Popped and poured. A very nice cab for the price but a bit too much oak and not enough fruit for me. Definitely needs a big steak as the tannins will suck your mouth dry.

  • This wine was meant for a big grilled steak. It's a big, very dark red wine oozing with black cherry and currant flavors. An excellent wine on it's own but it really shined when paired with food.
