Decent Cali Chard that compares favorably with similarly priced Chardonnay from France and better than most similarly priced Chardonnay from Cali. It's sweeter and fatter but still has lots of acidity and minerality. Beautifull gold color, lots of apples and spicy vanilla on the nose. Very tropical on the palate but also flavors of citrus, apple and vanilla. But there's a definite "cheap white wine" quality about it, too . .some awkwardness and heat. I will certainly buy this again.

This was the second chard of the night, and it is hard to forget the beautiful golden color of this wine. This was more of less the sixth time I have tasted this and it keeps getting better.

Pale gold in color with aromas of wild apples and vanilla. Medium bodied with moderate acidity. Flavors are big on green peaches leaving no room for much of anything else but a few straggling tropicals. The finish is a little bracing with acidity and alcohol with little fruit. It's a simple wine without much personality.
A second tasting 4 months later reveals the same story: A decent wine, full body with defined acidity. Tropicals and green apple with stone fruit. It has the signature of an average wine with the high acidity and lack of body. Acidity is the key focus here.

(Tolosa Chardonnay Edna Valley (375 ml)) #3; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-medium golden; NOSE-classic California Chard (oak & buttered popcorn); a little golden apple; PALATE-the oak is subdued which is good; but this wine is boring; I'm kind of pissed; tastes like a typical $7-10 Central Coast Chard; not exciting in any shape or form; off-balance and simply BORING; one of the most overrated wines we've ever had on the show; WE-93; GV-75
(Tolosa Chardonnay No Oak) #4; COLOR-nice golden; NOSE-little hints of Leachy & Star fruit; Cantaloupe; very tropical; hints of lemon peel on the finish; TASTE-good crispness & acidity; little Blue stone action on the back end which I like; great vanilla cream on the back end; a little concerned about the heat on the finish; solid; WE-90; GV-87+

It ain't Chablis, but it's in the ballpark: crisp, bracing, apples, pedigree, with some heft in the mid-palate; drink up, but no immediate rush
