  • Quite disappointing. The New Zealanders should stick to sauv blanc if this is any measure. Nobilo is usually pretty reliable, but this is a poor effort. The color is muddy and their just isn't anything crisp in the taste. I'm not sure what they were aiming for. Since it was deeply discounted, I suspect they are unloading it.

  • VISUAL: Straw-like in color. Almost the color of iodine in the glass.
SMELL: Very, very floral. Picked up scents of baby powder. After reading the description on the bottle, Turkish Delights was mentioned. Have had Turkish Delights when our ship visited Turkey back in 2002 and that smell definitely correlates with the baby powder scents mentioned earlier.
TASTE: Refreshing, but not as crisp as a German Gewurztraminer we had the night before. Back palate was slightly acidic, but not as much as the German counterpart. Also had a shorter finish.
Visited the winery in New Zealand and loved the wine their and brought back two bottles. Will have to try some more Alsace Gewurztraminers, but I think I might like those better.
