In a word: superb! Great depth and intensity here. Flavours of almonds, honeysuckle, lemon zest and a little white peach. Medium plus body, good oily mouthfeel. High acidity is well covered by the fruit. Long finish, with some complexity. Drinking well now, doubt it will improve but will last 5 years at least.

Lost my notes from this tasting, but I was just thinking about this wine and I am quite sure it's one of the best South Africa white wines I've ever tasted, right up there with T'Voetpad and Kokerboom. This was just so enticing on the nose, and incredibly textural, long, and mineral on the palate. Probably my favorite SA Chenin experience ever. Will be way more interesting in 2 or 3 years, and it may not reach its peak for many years after that. Would love to put this up against some top notch Savennieres.

Beautiful white fruits and mineral impressions. Nicely dry good acidity, a slight touch of pleasant sweetness and a great length. The best of their wines as far as I'm concerned.

Cape Cru South Africa Tasting (Zuiderkerk, Amsterdam): From 1985 bush vines on shale soil. Salty, smokey, a hint of candy cane, super long
