Burrowing Owl is certainly one of the premier wineries in British Columbia. We’ve enjoyed a lot of their different wine styles and vintages over the years.
To that long list, we’ve added their fortified port-style wine - Coruja - Portuguese for “owl” - now a family favourite.
The nose has many dark fruits followed by flavours of the tart and sweet berry pies that your grandma use to make. It is smooth, balanced and lingering. We serve it chilled to start so the palate enjoys a variety of tastes as the Coruja warms up in the aperitif glass over a leisurely after-dinner conversation.
Cheers. 🍷
