Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Ulysse Cazabone tasting (WSPC): 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, 200 different soils, 18 months in oak
The wine shows depth of fruit, loads of ripe black fruit, berries, cherries, floral notes, fragrant, elegant but also dense. The oak offers support in the back. Very extrovert with a bit of time in the glass, ripe black fruit, cherry, currant, prunes, plums, a touch of smoke, tobacco, licorice nuances, quite open and welcoming.
In the palate, the wine shows loads of fruit again, a touch warm (13.50%), the oak is more upfront, ripe fruit, prunes, currants, medium acidity, it does feel lacking real depth and complexity, feels more for short-term drinking, a few herbal bitter notes in the medium finish
