This was brought as a "ringer" to a white Rhone tasting. Sadly, belying its color (medium gold) and provenance of perfect cellaring from birth, it was over the hill, clearly oxidized and tasting too much like Sherry. I was mercilessly ridiculed for having brought the wine without a backup.

Well balanced blend of 60/40 Roussanne/Viongier. Oak showing on the palate as well as fruit. Slightly hot on the finish, but well balanced. Went very well with a goat cheese salad. A truly unique and thoroughly enjoyable wine.

This finished blend of 60% Roussanne and 40% Viognier was tasted from bottle at the winery with Matt Trevisan, owner and winemaker. Bright disc. Light straw robe with clear rim. Clean nose, showing very intense, perfumed aromas of pears, flowers, citrus, dust, spice and vanilla. Medium to full-bodied for a white wine, with crisp acidity and slightly hot alcohol. The flavors are pleasant and mirror the nose. Long, smooth finish. While certainly quite good now, it is a reasonably safe bet that a couple of years of cellaring will be handsomely rewarded.
