  • Does this have alcohol? (And I ask that in a good way.) Easy drinking with notes of strawberry, plum, plum skins and bitter twig. Wish I had another half case.

  • Exceptionally dark for a rose. More like a muted claret color. On the nose, raspberry, sour cherry, and orange peel are bright and aggressive. The palate follows the nose with good acidity, a medium-bodied mouthful, and a medium-length sour finish.
PnP, it improved over 90 minutes. This wine is clean and well-made, but does not look or drink like a rose to me - it is a light red. Interesting, but not a repeat buy for me.

  • It pours an a slightly cloudy scarlet color with subtle purple hue and a melange of black and red fruit, sun-baked earth, and white pepper aromas. On the palate, it's medium-bodied and balanced with sassy, mouth-watering acidity and fine grained tannins, which boost its structure. It shows ample sour cherry, black cherry, raspberry flavors with a satisfying mineral driven finish. 13.8% abv.

A 50/50 blend of Barbera and Aglianico sourced from estate vineyards at planted on volcanic soils at 1,450' elevation on the Kelsey Bench in Lake County
