Light straw, green glints. A nose closer to Sancerre than Marlborough, but not exactly either. The palate sends me in another direction - Alsace - because there’s a dense mouthfeel and a richness that reminds me of a fine Alsace Pinot Gris or Riesling. But in the end the wonderful balance of sweetness and tingling acidity could only be German. I’ve loved all of Hexamer’s wines for a while - except this one, which I tried at the winery and didn’t like. Boy was I wrong! This is unusual, characterful, and above all delicious! Highly recommended. Screw cap, 13% (though I’d have guessed more.)

This is swiftly becoming my house white! A wonderful balance of bright acidity, subtle sweetness, generous body and good length. Screwcap, 13%.
