This domaine has produced a Châteauneuf-du-Pape blanc since the 17th century. This cuvee is typically 40% Roussanne, 30% Clairette, 20% Grenache blanc, 10% Bourboulenc, Picpoul. ________
Color: Lt-med straw.
Nose: Moderate intensity. This has nice, pure, honeysuckle, lemon drop, pear/quince, and a kiss of anise. No oak. Pure, clean. Could use a little more complexity.
Pal: Rich, lush, front and mid palette. Crisp finish. Dry. 14.5% alc. Nice balance (no bitterness). Could use more acidity and energy to rate higher.
90-91. Drinks well right now.

This is a strong and heavy white, a poster child for the type of white Rhone blancs I usually don't care for. Ice (dilution+extreme cold) made it palatable (I know, heresy) but at cellar temperature it was cloying.

Great little honey thing going on. Not worth the $80 CAD though.
