Lovely expressive nose of black cherries, strawberries and a touch of spice and star anise
After a couple of hours of air it’s got a lot going on the palate. Medium to full bodied, silky and a good baseline of acidity and moderate tannins that gives it a nice crunch along with the glide. Well put together.
A mix of red and black fruits with a lovely spice kick, think red liquorice and subtle chilli , and then some really nice earl grey tea like tannins build up, giving both a lift and astringency.
Good with just a pop and pour but has at least another 5 yesrs under the hood too.
First time with this producer and grape variety and I’m really enjoying it.

Very dense deep red colour with purple reflexes. Beginning (directly after opening): On the nose it's a lot of sour cherry, rather one dimensional with some spices in the background. On the mouth red fruit aromas hit you immediately followed by a very earthy and spicy ending with very silky tannins barely visible. Very nice and a good example of how St. Laurent is somewhat the more denser brother of pinot noir. After having time to decant: Nose has gotten a little more complex with more earthy tones. Mouth has stayed pretty much the same, but it was already great in the beginning. Very long finish!
