Flight was blind. Dammit, if I'd known I was drinking La Conseillante I'd have given this more attention. But not sure whatever pedigree La Conseillante brought to the table stood much of a chance against whatever the 1940 vintage didn't. This also opens with an unappetizing aroma, in this case raisiny, but like the others it clears up pretty well with air. It also has a light and hollow and bony feel not unlike the wine before it that just made it feel a little vacant. It does pick up some flavor with air, mostly on the backdraft which mixes some freshly pitched soil with a smokiness flavored with I don't know what.
