  • Notes after following for five hours open without food. Dark ruby color with a thin meniscus and no sediment. Bold nose of dried berries and flowers, herbs and a light char. Good crunchy fruit at the pop that seemed to stretch out and gain intensity as it aired, reminding me more of an Aglianico by the time I wrote this. The 14% is there, but not a distraction. The tannin influence is still on the surface, but I believe this will improve with a few more years sideways. High qpr.
I'm imagining the ideal pairing to be some braised beef ribs with only a brushed sauce, or osso buco.

  • Wild berries, black and brambly, zingy acidity. Gentle tannins. Fairly crunchy texture, reminds me of very ripe Gamay but darker and more wild. Sneaky tannins on the finish.
