This is a rather nice BdB (which doesn't seem to feature on the producer's website for some reason).
Edit: via email from Gilles Lancelot I learn that this is a special cuvée created for the Italian market (but ending up with me in Hong Kong); the grapes are from vineyards in Coteaux Sud d’Epernay, 20% from reserve wines, vinification entirely in stainless steel, and the dosage is 5g/l; disgorged July 2021.
The nose is full of brioche, butter, yeast. These follow to the palate but also with mineral notes and a nice slightly citric bite and dryness. The dosage here is very well judged - this is neither austere nor cloying. All in all a very well produced balanced crowd-pleasing wine that is not without complexity on the palate.
Perhaps not the greatest QPR at ~US$40, but certainly a repeat buy for a few dollars less.
