from magnum. decanted and poured. A little green pepper, probably lightly corked. Very meaty and animal, a little farmy. Disappointing and definitely over the hill.

Last tasted 4 years ago. It's taken on a little age and started to decline a little. Nevertheless, it was delicious with roast Cornish hen. Drink the last few bottles over the next couple of years.

Heady nose with lots of very ripe, red berries, earth, soy, mushrooms, old leaf and dry tobacco. Also some herbal notes of basil, mint, thyme and rosemary. Hints of VA. Complex and mature. On the palate again ripe, almost sugared red berries, more earthy minerals, wet moss and mushrooms. Good bite to the acids and quite pronounced tannins. A bit drying towards the medium+ finish.
Much better than last bottle. Perhaps not an easy charmer, more brooding and brambly, at times slightly rustic, but great nose and dito fun to drink.

tasted blind and holy sh*t, would never have guessed 1990 as the profile is entirely broody and brambly dark fruited with wild purple/blue fruits with graphite, some soil tones, licorice and minty herbs. Positively backward and for the long haul and while firmly tannic, the fruit is not over- done; it still retains a purity, though very impenetrable still.
