Second of two bottles, last opened a year ago. Initially super funky and carbonated, but blows off completely after a half hour to reveal a very well put together wine. Berry melange, raspberry, blueberry, cranberry, summer herbs, and light smoke. High acid, low tannins. This is frustratingly good despite its obvious "flaws".

On the carbonated side -- tasted like a slightly more complex cranberry soda with a bit of raspberry and minerals. Still finished it, but maybe a flawed bottle?

-- decanted approx. one hour before initial taste -- -- tasted non-blind over 2 - 3 hours --
NOSE: crunch, carbonic, red fruits; Campari.
BODY: garnet-magenta color of medium depth; medium-light body.
TASTE: light red fruits; fine tannin; medium+ acidity; strong, pronounced mineral note; a hint of "natural wine" signature; juicy red berries, and some powdery potpourri; slight little mousey note -- very slight -- eventually, but it's light enough that I can easily overlook it. Possibly room to improve, but it doesn't come across as super dense or structured.
Cranberry, sandalwood, and bresaola, intriguing nose. Medium acidity, light tannins, and an unfortunately thin mouth feel. Lacking a dimension on the palate, which is a shame because what's here is very good.

Playful and dark fruited - no edges in this bottle.
Just what I wanted in a bottle of Metras..
