Very closed on the nose to start with despite 1 hour decant. But beautiful on the palette with black fruit and a fruit cake quality, with great concentration. On the second glass a bit more openness on the nose, cherry juice soaked pastry. There is almost a tinglyness that you might feel from elevated alcohol, but this is in no way hot. 89 may be a bit skinny, a longer decant probably would improve the score.

Stood up a day in advance. A medium ruby core fading to a deep garnet outer edge. Despite being decanted for an hour and drank over two this was rather closed and muted with little emerging from the glass other than damp herbs and baked damsons. By contrast the palate had far more intensity and concentration with black cherry and cassis. A somewhat frustrating experience overall largely due to the inexpressive nose yet a very good wine nevertheless.

Agreed with dcwino on the tasting note. Really good spot and our bottle took more than 2 hrs to open by slo-ox. Closed at first, then blossomed with fruit after that 2nd hour. Gorgeous.

A small gathering at Jailbreak Brewing Co. (Jailbreak Brewery, Laurel, MD): Incredibly youthful nose displaying ripe black fruit with a hint of red, black cherry, blackberry liqueur, a hint of dry cherry, fruitcake, tobacco, garrigue, dark spices and earth. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of intense dark fruit, big scale, unctuous, bright acidity, earthy mineral, and a long concentrated black fruit driven finish with tobacco at the end. It remains incredibly youthful and still needs time. I am not sure how this will evolve.
