Gamay and Famille Paquet (Chicago, IL): Surprisingly savoury, this was definitely the ripest and richest of the three Crays. Still feels quite well-balanced, despite the amplified fruit here.

Paired beautifully with steamed Dungeness crab (straight from the shell, no sauces, butter, etc.): the acidity and lively and varied flavors complemented the crab, each refreshing your taste buds for the other. Did not do as well against prawns in garlic butter with pasta. Passable for sipping, but really a food wine, best interleaved with other flavors and textures.
