  • Overripe nose of stewed plums and prunes, along with a bit of mint and molasses. Stewed cherry on the palate, as well as prune, dark plum, cola, clove and black pepper. Tons of acidity, and very dry, this was completely out of balance. Medium+ finish wending with notes of cola and black pepper. While not showing Brett or TCA, this bottle was slightly flawed (heat damage?) and it would not be fair to rate this.

  • Nice nose of damson, slight smoke, reglisse, cream. Second day even more of a seductive nose. On taste, nice integrated tannins with a long finish. Slightly drying tannins but just may need more age. Very elegant wine. Light body, balance with the acidity. A nice Bordeaux.

  • Gorgeous aroma of plum with hints of cedar and mint. Full and complex flavors of dark fruit and spices, lingering finish that has a bit of heat. Firm acid, though a little more muddle and a little less structure than I would find in my ideal Bordeaux. Quite good nonetheless.

  • Long overdue boy's nite (Reno, NV): Moderate depth of color, ruby rim. On the nose tons of ripe plum and dark fruits... background barrique spice, good minerality, very slight vegetal note. On the palate moderate acidity, a very plush and full midpalate, smooth transition into a low to moderate tannic finish. Good balance, at or below average persistence on the palate, average intensity, decent complexity, good finesse and a fine texture, good expression of place. I liked this more than I thought I would (Dressner and Boreaux isn't a combo that usually interests me much)... the wine is a very earthy, plumy wine with good depth of flavor that is very well made for its style and appellation. Drink or hold another 1-2 years.

  • Still tannic but very drinkable. Light on fruit but a good tannic structure. Powerfull but well balanced. A good example of a traditionnal Bordeaux. A bit expensive compared to other Cru Bourgeois but not over-priced. Not a delicate wine by any means but not too harsh either.
