I was skeptical about North Carolina grapes, but I visited the winery in NC on the recommendation of a friend at work, and they are a class operation at Overmountain. They developed this wine, and the grapes which formed its backbone, with the end result being a well-balanced, structured, excellent achievement. I let it breathe in the bottle for 45 minutes. Nice bouquet of apple. On your palate, layers of flavors progress from apricot and apple, to melon and citrus, with a hint of honeysuckle and faint vanilla. Medium-bodied with a medium-long finish of apple and pear. This wine paired very well with turkey and also pumpkin pie. Certainly an "Epic". I can't wait to taste their top-of-the-line red, which was sold out. Go figure ....
