  Yes, I know this is too early, but I just had to try it. Bright straw color, green hints. A reductive nose at first, making it almost impossible to analyze. It takes about 2 hours an a wide Zalto all round glass before the wine starts to open up. From that point it is pure Chablis all the way: nice tones of citrus, especially lime, a backbone of chalk and sea salt, and a slight tone of spice (ginger?). As for all Droin wines, the first attack is smooth and full bodied, almost caressing. The silky feel up front changes through the tasting curve, from sweet apple and pear up front to lime and lemon on the mid palate, and then to green apples and spice (again; ginger?) on the finish. The aftertaste is long with a salty touch. Vaulorent from any producer doesn't get better than this, and this is by any standards a top notch Chablis. Will improve for at least 10 years +, and will probably keep for much longer. It is also nice to see that the wines of Droin are getting even better with the use of oak.

  As expected a very pretty little number here and albeit on the young side of things still very welcoming and with quality all over it. Well mannered use of oak even at this young age, polished and smooth with soft Ho et and citrus. Misses that Chablis flinty and mineral side but over all a very easy 91 with potential. Let’s say a more rounder expression of the style and not one to age for long in our view. 91 for now
