This BC winery has top-notch products, and the 2016 Next Step is evidence. Beautiful blend of flavours. Oak. Cherry. Plum. Great body without overwhelming tannins.
It’s a warm, open, welcoming red wine. Delicious!

The 2016 Next Step comes in well above its price point. Because it is release 5 years along it is already quite mature but with enough tannins and acidity to allow it to cellar for 2 or 3 more years. The merlot and cabernet sauvignon provide the biggest part of the flavours (dark berry) but the rather unique addition of pinot noir adds a cherry/strawberry touch at the finish. Medium finish with some lingering, pleasant acidity and red fruit. Minerality typical of Okanagan wines is present but light.

“Light for a cab sauv”. Juicy berries. Nice tannins. We’ll balance
