Decanted 45 mins. Nose features leather from the Sangio, plus some pencil shavings from the Cab and some earthy, grassy stuff. Dark cherry on the palate, but the fruit isn't that prominent. There was a decent amount of oak on the aroma and palate at the start, but that faded over time. Did add a little bitterness. Also has a touch of that violet-quality from the Merlot. Finish is quite acidic, which I suppose isn't all that surprising considering the 47% Sangio. Tannins were chalky at first, but mellowed. Overall some interesting stuff here, although perhaps a bit out of balance. This may keep for a few more years, but I wouldn't wait any longer.

Massive Blueberry pie nose on opening, with flavors to match. Pretty flabby though, with not enough structure for the fruit. However, day 2/3 were much much better - everything seemed to tighten down nicely. Would be a good match for a rich BBQ, much like an Aussie Shiraz.

Optimum drinking window. Mature tannins. Soft and fruity. Last bottle, alas.

This was our fourth bottle of the night, so none of us had any sense left to rate the wine but it was perfectly drinkable and serviceable.
