Visited Alsace a few months ago and purchased several Marcel Deiss wines, but forgot that this one was so sweet. Almost Sauternes like, perhaps slightly less sweet but still would consider it a dessert wine. But other than that mismatch of expectations, this was an excellent wine. Nose and palate of honey, apricot nectar, peaches and orange marmalade. A nice long finish. Fresh and good acidity without any developed flavors so surprisingly young for a 2006. I plan to lose my other bottle in the cellar for many years.
