Château Lafleur tasting (Rheingau Gourmet & Wine Festival Hattenheim, Germany): This estate has been in the Guinaudeau family since 1650. 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, manual harvest, 12 months on oak. Good fruit, not as rich as the 2005 but not really green either, has the acidity and tannic structure to last 8-10 years.

Early Mar 2009, Tasting “Chateau Lafleur”, at the Rheingau Gourmet Festival: crimson color; restrained nose and palate; surprisingly light body.
Young wine, additional decanting time would have been beneficial.
Chateau Grand Village is managed by the same team as Chateau Lafleur, Pomerol.

A basic Bdx, nice fruit / kirsch up front, fades by mid palate, short finish. Nothing wrong here, just not terribly interesting.
